About our Instructors
All of our instructors are certified:
Our instructors are well-trained in both emergency medicine and in teaching it, using proven pedagogical methodologies. Because of this, when you finish a ResponseReady class, you are better trained to handle an actual emergency. And we provide follow-up materials and strongly encourage our students to continue to practice their skills (because no matter how well you do the skills in class, you will lose them if you don't continue to practice).
Certification
Upon successful completion of our courses, you receive certification(s) from the American Red Cross and ResponseReady.Contact Us
If you are interested in our courses for yourself or for an organization, please send an email to classes@responseready.com, and we will contact you to make arrangements.
Donations
This company is supported in large part by donations from Audio High and many generous individuals. If you would like to make a contribution, please send an email to donations@responseready.com. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Studies done by the Red Cross have found that most people lose much of their training within one week of certification, and within a month most people are ill-equipped to handle an actual emergency. Our goal is to produce students who retain their training and confidence so if an emergency does arise, they are able to respond and make a difference.
To accomplish this, we use volunteer instructors who are well-trained in emergency response, and we follow up our teaching with short refresher courses and free materials available on our web site to reinforce the classroom work and to answer common questions.
Michael Silver
Michael was first certified in CPR and lifesaving in 1974 and currently holds a number of certifications in emergency medicine, including EMT, Diver Medical Technician (DMT), and hyperbaric chamber operator. He has been teaching in various capacities for over 20 years. In addition to his work with ResponseReady, he is a guest instructor for the Foothill College EMT program (teaching the dive medicine module), teaches a number of classes for the American Red Cross, and works as a volunteer EMS professional.
Dr. Martin Rossip
After working as an EMT and Red Cross Instructor, Dr. Rossip went on to get his doctorate in medicine from Yale University. After completing his emergency medicine residency at Stanford Hospital, he worked for a number of years as an ER physician. Dr. Rossip now serves on several boards and continues to work toward improving access to emergency medical care. We are deeply grateful for his direction and support.
Kenneth Hutz
Ken, who received his law degree from UC Davis, is an active supporter of several Bay Area charities. He serves the ResponseReady board with both legal advice and his administrative experience as the founding Director of the Un Mundo organization, whose mission is to promote economic, educational, and medical programs in marginalized communities.
